Whether you are looking to learn the ropes or get out on the trail, every rider starts with a conversation and a plan that fits you.
One-on-one riding lessons
Fully tailored to you, whether you are five or sixty-five, brand new or finding your seat again. Every lesson is the full experience: grooming, getting your horse ready, tacking up, and riding. You will learn real horsemanship, not just how to sit in the saddle.
Guided trail rides
Our favorite ride and the heart of Trail Trotters. Wind through beautiful wooded trails, with routes that lead all the way down to the reservoir. Geared toward riders who are ready to leave the ring behind and explore.

No competition, no show-barn pressure. Just a patient teacher, good horses, and the time to actually enjoy it.
Every level welcome
From first-timers who have never touched a horse to riders ready for the trail, lessons meet you exactly where you are.
Ages 5 and up
Kids, teens, and adults all ride with us. A typical lesson runs about an hour, start to finish.
The whole experience
Grooming, tacking up, and care are part of every lesson, because good riding starts on the ground.

Hi, I'm Kristin
Horses have had my heart since I was a little girl. After years of riding and teaching, starting Trail Trotters is a dream finally come true: my very own horses, and the chance to share them with you.
Teaching is who I am. For years I have been a second grade teacher in Boonton, and I love every minute of it. Getting to also teach horseback riding, my favorite thing in the world outside the classroom, is a complete dream come true.
I believe every rider learns differently, so no two lessons look the same. We will go at your pace, build real confidence, and have fun doing it. And once you are ready, the trails are waiting.

Down to the reservoir
The property opens onto beautiful wooded trails, including routes that wind all the way down to the reservoir. It is quiet, it is gorgeous, and it is the best classroom there is.
Trail rides are geared toward riders who have built up their skills and are ready to explore beyond the ring. If that is not you yet, no worries. We will get you there.
